High Brow versus Low Brow and My feelings on the course

Dearest Blog,

I am one of the few Luddites in the class-- I have never blogged. However I am looking forward to the new experience. I have yet to begin reading any of the texts, I just recently purchased my books today. I am looking forward to begining the reading as well, and if all goes well, becoming a better writer.

After skimming other students blogs I found myself very, very intimidated. I hope to be able to become a better literature student and also improve my vocab. Those are my basic hopes for this class. As for 'High Brow' and 'Low Brow', I automatically think of 'High Brow' as being on the level of David Copperfield and 'Low Brow' as being more of a Harry Potter type of writing. 'Low Brow' is loved by the masses because it is relatable and fun to read, 'High Brow' is most likely what I will be getting into now as a Literature major, more of a complex style of writing with more symbalism than 'Low Brow'. 'High Brow' will require much more effort than any 'Low Brow' reading, I am exicted for this course but hope my writing skills will be up to scratch or can progress to a higher level.
